In the world of vintage diving watches, Zodiac occupies a much more important place than is commonly believed today.

From the 1950s onwards, the Swiss manufacturer developed innovative sports watches that directly rivaled the creations of Rolex, Blancpain, and Tudor. While the brand hasn't maintained the same media profile, it has nonetheless captivated enthusiasts with bold designs, advanced features, and an instantly recognizable visual identity.

Introduced in 1953, the same year as the Rolex Submariner, the Zodiac Sea Wolf was one of the very first dive watches designed for the general public. Its robustness, legibility, and sporty character quickly propelled this model to iconic status. The second generation, produced in the 1960s and 70s, is distinguished in particular by its vibrant color combinations and highly sought-after technical variations.

The reference 762-966 presented here belongs precisely to this lineage. Equipped with a day-date function and powered by the Zodiac 70-72 caliber (based on AS 1687/1688), it benefits from the "quick set date", a rarity appreciated on vintage dive watches.

A piece full of charm, historical, and still surprisingly undervalued in the landscape of vintage dive watches.
