The Argonaut range was introduced in the late 1960s and, while using the same mechanical calibers as the DS range, the models were more conventional. The word "Argonaut" comes from Greek mythology. He is one of the heroes who accompanied Jason on the Argo, in his perilous quest for the legendary Golden Fleece.
Argonaut watches were produced for around ten years and do not have a huge number of models. These watches are therefore becoming quite difficult to find today. There are models only marked "Argonaut" and 3 other variants which are respectively "Argonaut 220", "280" and "285". This was purchased in 1971 in Rome, Italy, more precisely in Ostia Lido. It comes with the following items:
- Original Certina box
- Original guarantee
The blue tone of this dial and the white hands form a superb combo that will not leave anyone indifferent. The tritium lume is all present and has aged very well. The design of this watch with its square case allows it to take a beating. You won't risk bending one of its horns!
No very deep scratches or dents to report. The deeper scratches you will see are on the bottom of the case. The amplitude is in the right range and the daily drift is between -20 and +4 seconds per day depending on the position of the watch. It shows no rust or other signs of corrosion.
