Launched at the dawn of the 1970s, the Omega De Ville Chronograph ref. 146.017 stands out as a dressy and contemporary version of the brand's sports chronographs.
Beneath its 35mm case, visually more imposing than it appears thanks to large dial openings, beats the caliber 930. It is derived from the Lémania 1872 and related to the famous 861 used in the Speedmaster. This column-wheel movement, equipped with a 30-minute counter, a small seconds at 9 o'clock and a date at 9 o'clock, is a horological rarity, with barely 1,000 examples produced between 1970 and 1971.
The silver dial offers refined sobriety, enriched with “radial” counters inspired by the Alaska range, a tachymeter scale, applied black lacquered indexes and matching hands. The absence of a quick date in this atypical positioning requires patience. To top it all off, this version has been produced in yellow gold plating (30 µm) and is in a very beautiful state of preservation both outside and inside.
This chronograph had only a short production run, only about a year, which makes it a rare gem today.
This watch comes without box and papers.
