Magnificent Heuer Carrera reference 3648, an emblematic chronograph from the 70s in superb condition. It has the serial number 58XXX. This rare model is distinguished by its “gold-filled” yellow gold case (20 microns) measuring 35.5 mm in diameter. slight oxidation of the gold is visible on the case between 1 hour and 2 hours.

The history of the Carrera begins in 1963 when Heuer launched the series with the double subdial models ref. 3647, as well as the "Carrera 45" with three sub-dials and a 45-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock. References 3647 are dedicated to steel models, while 3648, like this one, are for gold-plated models. If you see the letters S, T or D after the reference number, this indicates respectively a Silver dial (S), a dial with a tachymeter scale (T), or a decimal scale (D).

This Heuer Carrera 3648 is equipped with the Valjoux caliber 92. The case was manufactured by Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA) and incorporates an innovative tension ring, which leaves the dial cleaner and easier to read. The creation of the Carrera by Jack Heuer in 1963 remains one of the greatest designs in the history of watchmaking. This Heuer Carrera 3648 is a perfect opportunity to add a legendary chronograph to your collection.
