Helvetia, founded in Biel, Switzerland, in the late 19th century, grew alongside Omega under the leadership of Louis Brandt & Frère. Although the brand ceased operations during the Quartz Crisis, it produced many remarkable pieces for several decades.

The Landeron 51 movement in this watch, coupled with the lack of shock protection, suggests a 1940s manufacture. The case measures 35.5mm without the crown, a generous size for the period, giving it an imposing presence on the wrist. The gold plating shows some signs of wear, mainly on the lower edges of the case.

This model, nicknamed "Big Eye" because of its two large chronograph windows, features a two-tone dial in excellent condition. The absence of luminescent materials, such as radium, likely contributed to the preservation of the dial over time.

The amplitude of the movement is satisfactory and the daily drift varies between 0 and -50 seconds depending on the position of the watch. The movement is signed Helvetia and Landeron 51, and does not present any corrosion.

This watch comes without box and papers.
