Very rare and captivating Girard-Perregaux Alarm watch ref.9490, produced in only 350 pieces between 1972 and 1976.

Known for its ingenious alarm system, this watch stands out from other Gerard-Perregaux alarm models of the time by the absence of the usual rotating disc and arched window. They are replaced here by an elegant hand with an arrow to set the alarm. The cushion-shaped stainless steel case, with a diameter of 35.5 mm, gives it a design that is quite unique and modern for the time.

Inside is the Girard-Perregaux Calibre 112 manual movement, based on the A. Schild 1931 calibre. It is equipped with an alarm mechanism activated by a crown at 2 o'clock. This crown is used to wind, set and activate the alarm. The alarm is activated by pulling the crown out and can be stopped simply by pushing it back in.

One of the most interesting features of this watch is its ability to offer an alarm setting of unparalleled precision for the time. Unlike traditional models where each minute line corresponds to a division of 12 minutes, here each minute is subdivided into 2.4 minutes, allowing for an even more precise alarm setting.

This watch comes without box and papers.
