Chronographe Suisse occupy a unique place in post-war watchmaking. From the 1940s onwards, these chronographs, assembled by various Swiss workshops, democratized a complication previously reserved for an elite. Powered by robust and proven movements, they are distinguished by a wide range of aesthetic styles while sharing a common technical foundation.

This 1950s example stands out with a much rarer configuration: a black dial, significantly less common than traditional light-colored dials. This deep hue perfectly highlights the gold Arabic numerals, matching hands, and peripheral tachymeter scale, giving the watch a strong presence and a decidedly sporty character.

The watch is powered by the Landeron 248 caliber, a hand-wound chronograph movement emblematic of its era. Prized for its reliability and simple construction, it played a key role in the widespread adoption of Swiss chronographs in the mid-20th century. The 37mm case, plated in 10 microns of yellow gold, offers balanced proportions and excellent legibility on the wrist.
