The Cartier Tank Must de Cartier reference 590005, introduced between 1981 and 1982, embodies the timeless elegance of the house of Cartier. It is inspired by the original design of the Tank Louis Cartier from 1917.
This 1992 watch features a rectangular 925 silver vermeil case plated with 18-carat gold, measuring 23 x 30 mm (the mixed version, MM, stands for "Medium Model"). Its crown is adorned with a blue sapphire cabochon. Its lacquered dial, adorned with Roman numerals and blued hands, reflects the brand's characteristic art-deco style.
Equipped with a reliable quartz movement, the Cartier 78-1 (based on a ETA 2512-1) offers the precision and quietness of quartz movement.
The Must de Cartier collection, launched in the 1970s, aimed to make Cartier's iconic creations more accessible, while maintaining their refinement. Reference 590005 is now prized by collectors for its classic design and quality craftsmanship.
