With the Capeland, Baume & Mercier offered a chronograph at the turn of the 2000s that blended classic inspiration with contemporary mechanics. The collection is distinguished in particular by its generous proportions, Arabic numerals, and an aesthetic intentionally inspired by historical chronographs.

This example, reference MV045216 produced in 2001, is presented with a very beautiful blue dial paired with three black sub-dials, a combination that gives the piece great depth. The dial also features a date window at 3 o'clock.

The watch is powered by the Baume & Mercier BM 13750 caliber, based on the famous ETA/Valjoux 7750. This automatic movement has a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. With its 39 mm steel case, sapphire crystal, and water resistance rated at 100 meters, the Capeland offers an interesting compromise between wrist presence, elegance, and sporty character.
